Documentary Round-Up

Narrated by Liam Neeson as the voice of mankind as a whole, Love Thy Nature is a breathtaking, enlightening and powerful ode to the vital symbiosis of man and nature. It's one of the most powerful and inspiring documentaries since An Inconvenient Truth. The picturesque footage of nature shows its majestic beauty in many different forms. At the same time, though, the doc doesn't shy away from the harsh reality of our times: how we have destroying nature in various ways, i.e. through CO2 polution, pesticides, etc. Director Sylvie Rokab does a great job of presenting you with the big picture as well as the small picture, so-to-speak, in a coherent, accessible way. She finds just the right balance between entertaining you while provoking you emotionally and intellectually. Never does the film become too exhausting, heavy or dull. You'll learn about biomimicry, an important science that harmonizes man and nature by focusing on nature's models/systems as a means to help solve a wide variety of human problems. The answers to many of our spiritual, physical and even evolutionary issues can be found in nature. Just step outside in nature for an hour or two instead of staying cooped up indoors all the time and see how you feel for a change. Prepare to feel a wide range of emotions. You'll feel enraged at times, yet hopeful and empowered to live a better life by learn how to live with nature and to learn from it while inspiring your fellow man to do the same. Knowledge, after all, is power. At a running time of just 1 hour and 16 minutes, Love Thy Nature will replenish your hope in mankind and nature while nourish your mind, body and soul concurrently. It's a must see for everyone, young and old.
