Aqua Teen Hunger Force MovieFilm for Theaters (R)

Release Date: April 13th, 2007 by First Look Pictures.
The Voices: Dana Snyder, Dave Willis, Carey Means, Andy Merrill, Mike Schatz, Matt Maiellaro, Fred Armisen, Bruce Campbell, C. Martin Croker.
Directed by Matt Maiellaro and Dave Willis.

BASIC PREMISE: The Aqua Teen Hunger Force must run away from an immortal piece of exercise equipment and stop the Plutonians from taking control of it.

ENTERTAINMENT VALUE: In this animated feature, Meatwad (Willis) joins Master Shake (Snyder) and Frylock (Means) as part of the Aqua Teen Hunger Force. They go on a mission to stop the Plutonians from using an Insane-O-Flex exercise machine as a deadly weapon. Those unfamiliar with the show will be disappointed if they expect something along the lines of the satirical and hilarious Beavis and Butthead or South Park. Plenty of toilet humor and grotesque scenes, like when a character gets literally turned inside out, are mainly used for shock value and mostly fall flat. Co-writers/directors Matt Mauellaro and Dave Willis combine lots of wild, colorful animation which makes it feel very dream-like and hallucinogenic. Admittedly, this bizarre animated film will only appeal to the fans of the Cartoon Network show that it’s based on. Everyone else will be both disgusted and bored, even though it only has a running time of 86 minutes.

SPIRITUAL VALUE: None is required or desired.

INSULT TO YOUR INTELLIGENCE: None, as long as you suspend your disbelief and check your brain at the door.

NUMBER OF TIMES I CHECKED MY WATCH: 15

IN A NUTSHELL: Strictly for avid fans of the TV show; everyone else will be both bored and disgusted.

RECOMMENDED WAY TO WATCH: Movie Theater (strictly for avid fans of the TV show)
Everyone else- Never
