Release Date: April 8th (NYC-Paris Theater) April 22nd (NYC-Quad Cinema) Directed by Yvan Attal. The Cast: Yvan Attal, Charlotte Gainesbourg, Alain Chabat, Emmanuelle Seigner, and a very special cameo. In French with subtitles. Basic Premise: A married couple (Attal and Gainesbourg) struggle with infidelity. Entertainment Value: The highlight of this wonderfully fresh and charming film is the comedy. Fortunately, the comedy is anything but low-brow or offensive comedy. The biggest surprise, which definitely will put a smile on any face, is a cameo of a very popular American actor. The performances of Attal and Gainesbourg are very good; it helps that they are married in real life. Spiritual Value: The examination of infidelity is interesting and provocative, especially when both man and wife experiment with it. The characters are believable and the situations are mostly touching and realistic--although there is a fairy tale aspect to it, especially given the title of the film. Insult to your intelligence: None.
