Release Date: April 15th (NYC-Quad Cinema), by Castle Hill Productions.
The Cast: Luca Zingaretti,Jérôme Anger,Amanda Sandrelli.
In Italian with subtitles.

Basic Premise: A true story about Giorgio Perlasca, who saved the lives of over 5,000 Jews during the Holocaust.

Entertainment Value: Luca Zingaretti's performance as Perlasca is nothing short of wonderful. It is a pleasure to watch Perlasca risk his life to save the Jews. The settings, costume designs, and music all contribute to set the tone of the era. There are many violent scenes that are difficult to watch at times, in the same way that they were difficult in Schindler's List. Nonetheless, this historically-based film is very engaging in every scene.

Spiritual Value: This film is moving from start to finish. It is very difficult not to cry by the end. Perlasca's bravery and kindness is very uplifting. It shows that there was some humanity during those cruel times. The fact that he risked his life to save many Jews is equally heartwarming and inspirational.

Insult to your intelligence: None.

Number of times I checked my watch: 0

The Bottom Line: A difficult to watch film about an important part history with strong performances and moving scenes. Not to be missed!

Recommended Way to Watch: Movie Theater (1st Run)
