The Cast: Andrei Panin, Rostislav Bershauer, Ksenia Rappoport, Artyem Semakin.

BASIC PREMISE: A leftist group of Russian terrorists--part of the Combat Organization of the Socialist Revolutionary Party- plan attacks against their government in the early 20th Century.

ENTERTAINMENT VALUE: The action scenes when the terrorists attack their government officials with bombs are gut-wrenching. The love triangle within the terrorist group makes the movie more interesting. Andrei Panin's performance as Georges, one of the terrorists, is powerful.

SPIRITUAL VALUE: History buffs will get a kick out of this movie. The motivations behind the terrorists' actions are interesting. The movie makes you think about what is going on psychologically in these character's heads. Thankfully, they are no one-dimensional characters. It is pleasantly surprising that they show both love and hatred. It makes for a very interesting character study--as well a lesson in Russian history.

INSULT TO YOUR INTELLIGENCE: None.

NUMBER OF TIMES I CHECKED MY WATCH: 1

THE BOTTOM LINE: An interesting character study behind the motivations of a revolutionary terrorist group. Hard to watch at times, but history buffs will still be entertained by the story.

RECOMMENDED WAY TO WATCH: Movie Theater (1st Run) for history buffs. DVD/VHS for everyone else.
