The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants (PG)

Release Date: June 1st, 2005 by Warner Brothers Pictures.
The Cast: Amber Tamblyn, Alexis Bledel, America Ferrera, Blake Lively.

BASIC PREMISE: A group of four teenage girlfriends go off separately to start a new life while passing along blue jeans that magically fits each one of them.

ENTERTAINMENT VALUE: Each one of the girls has her own unique, distinguishable personality. They are all charismatic and likeable. One of them played by Amber Tamblyn truly stands out among the rest with her perfect coming timing and warm personality--although she can be rebellious at time, but what teenager isn't? The settings where two of the girls go to are beautiful--Greece has never looked more picturesque. There are moments that could have been boring or mundane, but because the actresses are all so energetic and cheerful, they help to enliven the film. The magical jeans don't appear to often though, but that is a good thing because it brings out the more natural, believable qualities in the film.

SPIRITUAL VALUE: The meaning of true friendship is explored throughout this film. It is inspiring to see that true friends who don't always stick together can still remain true friends no matter what. Two of the girls experience their first love during their separate adventure, but ultimately, what really matters is friendship. This is a very uplifting message that every teenage girl--or boy--should pay attention to.

INSULT TO YOUR INTELLIGENCE: Predictable and too cute at times.
